Eleventh Day of Tours

We left at 8 am for Valencia from Granada this Thursday morning. The views of the Sierra Nevadas and rolling hills were amazing. We traded sunflowers and olive trees for almond trees. In this region the popular ‘turron’ is made.

Along the way, we have enjoyed some great rest stops. Not all have been new or full service, but they’ve been clean. The rest stop called Cevillera on the way to Valencia was awful. It was combined with a hotel so it looked promising and our guide even told us they serve paella which originates from this area. The original paella was made with rabbit and chicken, but the popular version is seafood paella. It was gross. Bathrooms were plenty, but toilet paper and soap wasn’t. Our guide later explained there were no ‘good’ rest stops in this area.

More to come…
