Crisis Averted

Today we headed out around 7:30 a.m. because we were unsure we would make it to our scheduled city of Nájera over 28 kilometers from Logroño.  We had just reached a stop organized by Marcelino Lobato Castrillo for la Ermita Del Peregrino Pasante when our walking buddy Peggy realized she didn’t have her purse.  I made a phone call to the Hostal we used the previous night and they did not have it.

The kilometers until Navarette seemed to go on for ever.  I was at a loss for words since her money, credit cards and most importantly documentation was all in the purse.  We finally arrived in Navarette and sat for Cokes.  By the grace of God, my second call to the Hostal yielded good news.  The purse was there.  The ladies at the bar called a taxi for us and within the hour we had picked up her purse and been dropped off at Nájera.  It had taken several hours to walk less than halfway.

When I question why we are doing this, I have to remember Peggy’s purse as one of the many reasons.  Buen Camino!

Tell me what you think!
